Australian Institute of Social Relations

The Australian Institute of Social Relations is a Registered Training Organisation with 30 years experience delivering professional education, including 12 years as an RTO providing vocational qualifications. In June 2004, we were approved by the National Training Authority as an Industry Skills Training Centre to provide specialist training to the community services and health sectors.
With over 38 qualifications and the provision of direct and online education, we are the largest non-government provider of training in South Australia, specialising in the provision of vocational education and training to agencies and workers in community services, health, justice and other human service areas. Our experience includes the provision of domestic violence training for Family Court workers: the design and implementation of ‘front-line’ worker training in Responding to Children Living with Domestic Violence for the Office for the Status of Women and the development of online GP training in suicide prevention.
In South Australia, we are currently contracted by the State Government to provide workforce training in the areas of Mental Health First Aid, suicide risk assessment and prevention, HIV and hepatitis C, gambling help, financial counselling, Aboriginal youth work and responding to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
In August 2008, we became the first RTO to begin providing the new Vocational Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution and in partnership with The Training Ground have developed online FDR training for distance education in this course.
